# self_response_forbidden

> A key that sends messages tried to act as a person: to answer an ask, mint an answer link or pair a recipient. No agent may answer itself.

HTTP `403` · `retryable` is `false`

A key holding `messages:write` speaks as an agent, and an agent can never speak as a person: it cannot answer an
ask, its own or a sibling's, mint an answer link, or pair a recipient. This is what makes an approval in Kabu a
person's approval.

**What to do:** let the person answer, from the app or the link Kabu sends them. A service of yours that collects
answers in its own interface needs a separate service key with `answers:delegate`; see
[Keys and scopes](/docs/concepts/keys). In test mode, `POST /v2/test/messages/{message_id}/responses` answers for
you.
