# checkpoint_expired

> The events checkpoint is older than events are kept. Start again from a new checkpoint, the current state, then newer events.

HTTP `410` · `retryable` is `false`

Events are kept for 30 days, and this checkpoint points further back, so the events after it are gone.

**What to do:** recover without missing anything: take a new checkpoint (`GET /v2/events/checkpoint`) with the same
filters, list the current state, then read events after that checkpoint, applying only newer resource versions. See
[Events](/docs/concepts/events).
